Inscribed Brixham Harbour to reverse, signed lower right.
Self taught artist who was an active member of the Torquay art community. He became the honorary curator of Torre Abbey Museum when it opened in the 30s. He was a member of the Philharmonic Society, & associated with the Court of Govenors of Torbay Hospital. Died suddenly in 1935 after an operation in Finchley, London. He bequethed a painting to Torre Abbey, his clothes to the Salvation Army, & £100 to Torbay Hospital. Married to Ruth, a professional artist. Examples are in Auckland City Gallery, New Zealand.
